Presentation at DIALOGIN Conference on Global Leadership Competence: Personal Qualities, Culture, Language

In June, 2014, Thomas Kurz was one of the selected presenters at the DIALOGIN Conference on Global Leadership Competence: Personal Qualities, Culture, Language in Konstanz, Germany. Here a short summary of his talk:

Intercultural Learning Histories - The Power of a Diverse Story

This new action research approach is based on the so-called Learning Histories approach, developed at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), at the end of the 90s. The original approach takes advantage of a compilation of diverse viewpoints within an organisation in order to learn systematically from the experience of employees, suppliers and customers across all hierarchical levels. The adaptation of this approach, named Intercultural Learning Histories, collects stories from different companies in order to learn from experience in intercultural cooperations.

This talk will show the core principles, based on interpersonal neurobiology, storytelling and organisational development and presents the first application of the approach, targeted at interpersonal communication within collaborations between Austrian and Chinese companies.

Intercultural Learning Histories help to open the mind for diverse viewpoints, facilitate intercultural understanding and opens a unique window to your intercultural workforce.
